Attempted escape to the civil prison of Hinche, 2 agents of the National Police of Haiti were taken hostage

DGPNH-Press and Public Relations Coordination / SDC-Hinche civil prison escape attempt file, December 8, 2019. December 19, 2019. Calm has returned to Hinche Civil Prison. During an attempted escape from Hinche civil prison, two Haitian National Police officers were taken hostage on Wednesday, December 18. Three (03) 9 millimeter caliber firearms were seized, one (01) knife and two (02) saw blades were confiscated. Very quickly, the specialized units; deployed in the Center Department (Hinche) had regained control of the situation and proceeded to release the hostages. Prisoners Roger Mardochée, Alexis Stevenson, Mertilien John Wesley, Ullice Emmanuel are identified by the PNH as the main perpetrators of this escape attempt. The operation continues with searches and interrogations in the cells of the detainees in order to obtain other information

Former DCPJ Director  Michael Lisius  died of gunfire today Sunday, December 1, 2019, as he entered his home in the  Vivy Mitchel area-Haiti,  news reports that the Inspector General had just arrived from abroad on the bridge between Vivy Mitchel shot to the ground with 9 bullets and died there. We would like to stress to you that this is not the first time that the DCPJ's former official has been subjected to armed attacks, but this time he has not survived. Michael Lisius reached the head of the DCPJ in 2005 and was replaced by  Jessie Cameau Coicou . This is his last facebook post criticizing the PHTK Government.
